I am a 21st century woman.
I am capable, adaptable, and spiritually equipped.
I can write emails, lead meetings, calm storms, and hold others’ pain in my hands, while helping transmute it in my heart.
And I am still expected to live in a state of constant urgency,
to produce and perform in order to prove my value,
to push myself through depletion until exhaustion becomes normal,
and to hide my tenderness just to be taken seriously…
this is not what I was born for.
When I go quiet,
when I retreat,
when I long for, and choose, solitude or sacred space, it’s not burnout.
I am responding to a calling.
A calling to remembrance.
I am remembering what it feels like to live in my natural rhythm.
To restore balance and to embody wisdom rather than outrun it.
We are all 21st century women.
We are whole, free, and connected to the current of life that flowed through all the women who came before us.
We all descend from the Teachers.
They shared wisdom around fires and under trees—through stories, songs, and presence.
They didn’t lecture; they evoked.
Today, we are often expected to explain ourselves, justify our knowing, and prove our worth with credentials.
We all come from the Visionaries.
They saw beyond their time, dreaming of a world shaped by justice, harmony, and soul.
Today, we are told to be realistic…to play it safe, to stay small, so we won’t disappoint ourselves or others.
We all carry the gifts of the Healers.
Our ancestors placed hands on hearts, listened to the body’s whispers, and invited relief through rhythm, ritual, and relationship.
Today, we are told to “get over it,” to mask our pain, and to stop naming what makes others uncomfortable.
We all follow the path of the Mentors.
They didn’t lead from the front. They walked beside others, holding space for courage and clarity to arise.
Today, we are asked to answer immediately, to fix quickly, to save…rather than support others as they find their own way forward.
We are all kin to the Advocates.
They stood beside the voiceless and spoke truth with grounded love.
Now, we are often expected to be polite, quiet, and accommodating…even when we see what needs to change.
We all hold the fire of the Creators.
Those who came before us shaped their worlds through intuition and bold expression.
Today, we are told to monetize everything we make, as though our worth is measured by visibility and productivity.
We are all 21st century women.
And deep within each of us, the seer, the guide, the creator, the story-teller, the healer,
and the wild-hearted visionary still live.
We are already equipped for this time and place.
We are remembering how we are meant to live within it.
Let’s remember her together.
